The bundle includes six Moog Mother-32 soundsets: Progressive (35 Patches), Probability (20 Patches), Expressive Bass (10 Patches), Techno Jam (64 Patterns), Melodic Patterns (64 Patterns), and Cheat Sheet.
It doesn't include combo-patches with other Moog synths.
"Progressive" is a collection of 35 Patches: 15 Leads, 8 Plucks, 2 Percussions, 5 Sequences, 5 FXs.
In some patches I use «Assign» output. I did it for ModWheel, but you may try other sources.
"Probability" is a collection of 20 generative patches. This genre of sound design is very popular inside modular culture, and Mother-32 suggests a good set of features to enter this club.
Controlled chaos and randomness, probability, non-repetitiveness, tempo break, pattern uniqueness, short and long sounds alternation, unexpected changes, silence and density, harmonic and fx-like tones, freaky splashes during a sequence - all these things are included in the soundset.
"Expressive Bass" is devoted to bass patches and Mother-32 gives great opportunities to create them. All these patches are supposed to be used in pair with the internal sequencer as they are based on the sequencer parameters, like Gate Time, Accent, Slide, Hold, Reset, and others.
The patches with Assign Out have recommendation on which Assign source to choose. However, you should experiment with different sources to get the greatest results.
"Techno Jam" is a collection of 64 patterns suitable for different genres like Techno, Minimal, House, Progressive, Acid, Deep, Rave, Dub, Tribal, Hardcore, Industrial, Dark, Electro, etc.
The soundset contains a wide range of patterns: dense, with all steps active, or sparse, having many empty steps and giving space for other instruments. Some patterns are made in Natural Minor, they will work nicely for Deep or Melodic Techno, while some use other modes, like Phrygian and are associated with Acid 303-lines.
«Melodic Patterns" is a collection of 64 sequences suitable for different genres like Techno, House, Progressive, Deep, Trance, Retrowave, Synthwave, Lounge, Downtempo, Chill Out, Cinematic, Breaks, Drum’n’Bass, etc.
The soundset contains a wide range of patterns: dense, with all steps active, or sparse, having many empty steps and giving space for other instruments. Some patterns are made in Major scale, others - in Minor.
"Cheat Sheet" contains all Moog Mohter-32 commands, buttons and knobs combinations, menu settings in one document (2 pages).
The goal of this document is to make the work with the synth much easier, as you can constantly hold all commands in front of you (in case you can't remember all of them) with no need to look through many pages of manual to find the things you forgot.
📔 The soundsets are presented in PDF format. Each page contains notes explaining how the patch works, which parameters are worth tweaking during playback, and how to develop the timbre during a performance. By following these notes and making conscious adjustments, you can explore the depth of the synth.
💽 Each patch includes an audio example, demonstrating how it's supposed to sound.
In my videos, I used drums and pads to accompany the patches + a bit of reverb/delay, so you may hear the timbres in a kind of realistic situations. Audio examples in the catalog are dry and without other instruments.
